Known Bugs and Omissions
Windows 98 can only be used with the PICSTART Plus; it will not work with the boot loader introduced in WinPSP 2.0. There
appears to be a long-standing bug in Windows 98's serial driver that renders it incapable of sufficiently reliable
communication without hardware flow control enabled. This bug might also exist in Windows ME, although we do not have any
Windows ME configurations to test with. If you plan to use the boot loader, we suggest using Windows 2000 or XP.
WinPSP 2.0 supports the list of PIC devices available in MPLAB 5.70. New devices can be added to WinPSP without rebuilding the
application by simply adding new INI files to the Chips subdirectory. If a new device becomes available, and you'd like to see
support for it in WinPSP, let us know.
There is currently no support for reading from or writing to processor ID locations.
